What is a Hydraulic Gear Pump?

How does a Gear Pump Works?
Inside a hydraulic gear pumps, there are two main gears to operate the pump: driving gear and driven gear. Driving gear is connected to the input shaft, motor would rotate this gear and driven gear rotates in synchronization with the driving gear.
As the gears come out of mesh on the inlet side of the pump, they create an expanded volume. In filling process, fluid flows into the cavities, then gear teeth trap the fluid as the gears continue to rotate against the pump housing. The trapped fluid is transferred from the inlet, to the discharge, around the casing. As the teeth of the gears become interlocked on the discharge side of the pump, the volume is reduced and the fluid is forced out under pressure.

Generally, there are two main types of gear pump:
